About Our Work and Our PartnersSince we were founded by four students nearly two decades ago, we’ve been on quite the adventure. We now get to work with many of the leading brands, universities, nonprofits, and original content platforms. Our partners include Apple, the PGA of America, Smithsonian Institution, Warner Bros. About the RoleThe Vice President of Growth leads three dynamic teams -- Accounts, Business Development, and PR (Marketing) -- together driving new business development across all verticals. This position is responsible for developing the strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth and partner satisfaction for the organization. Specific responsibilities include business and market development, partner management, market research, marketing strategy, sales growth, and partner satisfaction. The VP will also oversee the sales and PR team members’ daily activity and development.What you’ll do:
  • Partner Growth- Responsible for driving all renewals and new business growth across key pillars, including brands, universities amp; nonprofits, and original content. Build relationships, identify opportunities, develop solutions, and negotiate contracts.
  • Strategy- Works closely with the President and CEO to build long-term strategies for increasing presence and anticipated ROI of multiple options for hiring, marketing, and additional resources.
  • People Leadership- Oversees and develops New Business Development team (4), Director of Accounts, PR Director and their respective teams. Provides insight on partner business priorities. Delivers results by developing both the capability and commitment of the Directors as consultants to senior leadership, internal partners, and partners. Sets high standards, gives accurate feedback and provides coaching and development on a personal and professional level.
  • People Leadership- Leads, motivates, and develops employees on the basis of our iU purpose statement. Ensures goal-oriented internal communication. Ensures the achievement of agreed-upon goals through adequate control and support. Ensures diversity and compliance in the company by fostering a culture in line with our values.Serve as a thought leader in the company and set out best practices and performance standards for all user acquisition and growth initiatives
  • Advisor Management- Works with a team of Ideas United advisors to identify and develop business opportunities.
  • Team + Partner Management- Works across all teams and directly with the head of projects, head(s) of creative and production, head of people, and head of finance. Within growth, works specifically with their team to ensure transition from sale to accounts are done effectively. Stays available for problem solving and relationship-growing throughout the course of partnerships to varying degrees, with a primary focus on building the account and reaching more areas of growth with the partner.

What you have:
  • The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with in-depth industry experience and a true passion for the media, marketing, and storytelling industry. You have exceptional strategic planning skills, a record of building high-performance growth teams, and outstanding relationships with internal and external partners. A strong work ethic with proactive communication skills that encourages courageous conversations are a must.

  • BA/BS Degree in a relevant field of study
  • 4+ years in a leadership and management role, at either an Executive or Director l
