Outline of the job

We are seeking a new Senior Project Manager to help manage and lead new projects at Zinc Network in Georgia. We’re looking for someone with the experience and intellectual curiosity to design, deliver, and champion projects in the fields of media development, information integrity, and capacity development. Responsibilities include mobilising and managing complex programmes, as well as coordinating the work of our technical teams with a focus on digital journalism, campaign ideation (through design sprints and workshops), digital marketing and assessing the needs of local media organisations and CSOs and coordinating capacity development programming accordingly.

This role will report into a Project and/or Portfolio Director and deliver and is primarily tasked with delivering on an agreed workplan, ensuring the smooth delivery of activities, reporting, developing new programming, and helping manage and coordinating a diverse and dynamic team.

What you’ll be doing

Project management

  • Work with Project Directors to provide overall management, coordination, and technical direction to project management staff; with oversight achieving contractual obligations, high-quality technical work, and financial targets
  • Support the strategic planning of programmes, such as annual work planning and MEL plan development and where necessary guiding projects through inception
  • Once live, support the smooth implementation of programmes including the delivery of quarterly and annual targets; reviewing and supporting MEL plans and other reporting efforts, ensuring everything is aligned with award requirements, rules, and regulations; programme objectives; and client/donor guidance elevating risks and opportunities to senior management
  • Participate in project learning and data-driven adaptation, collecting and analysing performance data that will drive decision making
  • Communicate effectively with donors and other stakeholders, including USAID, UK Embassy Tbilisi, other implementing partners

Requirements

What we need from you

  • Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in one or more of the following technical areas: media development, campaigning, and capacity/CSO development
  • Experience managing/coordinating complex international development programs is required; experience serving as an FCDO, Department of State, or USAID project manager or other management experience for efforts of similar scope, size, and complexity handling projects between $1m-$2m per year in value is preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of capacity development and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL)
  • Excellent formal writing and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and cooperating with a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, businesses, associations, and civil society organizations and actors
  • Experience in leading projects across inception and close-out
  • Prior experience with FCDO and/or Department of State and/or USAID operating procedures, regulations, and reporting requirement
