The CDC Foundation is working with CDC and state and local authorities to provide surge staff to support surveillance, prevention, and response activities within the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) program. The CDC Foundation seeks an Assistant Training Coordinator who will support the Overdose to Action (OD2A) team within the Response, Crisis, and Preparedness (RCP) Unit. The Assistant Training Coordinator supports the team’s Training Coordinator with administrative, logistical, and technical needs for implementation of training.This position is fully remote.Job Highlights:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required and a minimum of 1-2 years of related professional experience, CHES preferred
  • Proven ability to create and facilitate training sessions for a wide variety of participants with various learning styles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and within teams
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse partners and stakeholders
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Zoom
  • Experience working in a virtual environment with remote partners and teams
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to solve complex problems and the ability to think strategically
  • Ability to work in teams including individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds from varied organizations, with a solution-oriented approach
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and be self-directed through prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines

Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a member of the OD2A Staffing Support Team
  • Assists in implementation of the OD2A Staffing Support training needs assessment and training requests
  • Assists in the analysis of results and findings from the needs assessment and training requests
  • Helps organize and execute webinars and other forms of training to address training needs as identified by the Training Coordinator
  • Coordinate with field staff and jurisdiction partners to identify relevant trainings
  • Support field staff in identifying and facilitating participation in external training sessions and conferences that correspond with their associated job responsibilities
  • Develop specialized knowledge of overdose prevention, surveillance, and response activities across states to identify ongoing training needs
  • Assist in development and monitoring of training reporting tools to identify success stories and track implementation of activities
  • Work collaboratively with training consultants and contractors
  • Assist with providing technical assistance to staff as needed
