This position is in the Office of theVice-Presidentof the Domestic Systems Integration Program (SI program) at the CDC Foundation. The Special Assistant will work closely with theVice President andleadership of the SI program onprojects and convenings.?The Special Assistant plays a key role supporting the office by helping to manage operations and special projects for theVice President and leadership of the SI program. This includes coordination of multiple threads of correspondence, maintaining a database of senior-level contacts, and creating and managing frameworks and processes that ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency across the organization.??An ideal candidate for this role has juggled multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, maintained a high level of professionalism, and crafted timely communications to and from multiple stakeholders, always taking the stakeholders’ needs into account and handling confidential information with tact and discretion. The role requires leveraging technology and creating systems and processes to build efficiency, coupled with a strong sense of ownership and accountability to drive projects forward. This position provides an excellent opportunity to hone organizational, project management, and audience-centered writing skills, in addition to building a strong knowledge base aboutwork with state and local health jurisdictions.JOB HIGHLIGHTS

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work closely with the Vice President to maximize the Vice-President’s time?

  • Assist in conducting research and literature reviews to aid the Vice President and other Program leaders.

  • Develop reports, memoranda, talking points, briefing materials, and presentations for use by the Vice President and Program leaders

  • Respond to key communications and requests from various constituents coming into the office: draft internal and external communications as needed, including emails, acknowledgement letters, PowerPoint slides, and memos/reports

  • Manages project work including managing meeting agendas and minutes, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and production of draft communications.

  • Develop or improve upon, implement, and maintain project management systems which track communication and deadlines of requests, projects, and other time-limited or ongoing initiatives.

  • Collaborate with staff to ensure timely scheduling and preparation of regular and ad hoc meetings, briefings, and other activities and engagements for the Vice President. Supports work to promote social cohesion across the foundation.

  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public health, healthcare administration, or related field

  • Master’s degree in public health or health administration or related field preferred


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong project planning and project management skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Salesforce CRM a plus

  • Experience in public health and reading and interpreting research and data to support public health work.

  • Experience collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • High degree of flexibility and initiative.
