SummaryThe Public Relations Manager helps to develop and execute communications and brand messaging strategies for Ideas United. This position’s primary objective is to help promote the studio’s capabilities and body of work, ensuring broad awareness of Ideas United within the industries we operate in. Working cross-functionally with all internal teams, especially Business Development and Account Management, this role reports to the Head of Growth.What you'll do:
- Proactively identifying events, conferences, podcasts, and media outlets where Ideas United should have a presence, and securing participation
- Collaborating with the Business Development team, establishing a PR and communications strategy to drive top-of-funnel opportunities
- Build and manage execution of an organic LinkedIn brand strategy
- Develop media kit for inbound requests for coverage
- Advance the studio’s existing messaging channels through developing new outlets (podcast, vlogs, etc)
- Work with internal teams to align on messaging through Ideas United’s social media and professional networking channels
- Manage media interviews with senior leadership, staff, and clients as required, acting as liaison to ensure all parties are properly briefed and coordinated
- Cultivate media contacts and actively pitch story ideas to various electronic and print outlets
- Monitor media for potential story/feature lines, special media interests and trends that could impact Ideas United
- Write and edit all press releases, PSAs, fact sheets, and other supporting materials with an acute eye toward deadlines
- Oversee the management of media lists and editorial calendar listings
- Be available and responsive to answer any press-related issues or questions
- Ensure message alignment for iU in coordination with the CEO, President, and department heads
- Serve as iU's spokesperson when appropriate
What we'll love about you:
- 5+ years experience in related public relations or corporate communications. Experience specifically with entertainment industry is a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong project management skills, and computer proficiency
- Strong interpersonal skills, sense of urgency, and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
- Motivated, self-starter with a strong work ethic
- Knowledge and experience with the local and national media
- Knowledge of online social media platforms and best practices
