Summary
We are seeking a strong leader to run our Production group which is comprised of a production and post-production team. The role will be responsible for leading the strategic planning of the studio’s Production business. You will deliver the Production Management strategy that supports the day to day management of productions but also the longer-term objectives for growth and efficiency. This will include shaping and planning production activity, securing key rights and talent, managing financial and operational risk and driving business levels.
As Head of Production you will work closely with the VP, Finance and VP, Growth to identify opportunities and maximize the value of iU content. You will be responsible for planning and managing production budgets, which includes responsibility for the strategic allocation of funding and the delivery of efficiencies through new and innovative ways of working. The Head of Production will manage the performance of our post-production and production team through ensuring adequate training, and development and performance management arrangements. You will be a key member of the senior management team responsible for developing and implementing our content strategy.
This role is based in Atlanta, reporting to our President. What you will be responsible for:
  • Implement studio policy and any changes to it and ensure that all employees buy into the studio vision
  • Set the overall strategic direction of the studio’s production alongside the President
  • Support the VP, Finance by providing relevant financial information as and when required
  • Serve as the leading internal and external ‘face’ of iU, represent the studio at events
  • Delegate responsibilities and supervise work of other members of the team, providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance and to manage staff with care, respect and consideration at all times in accordance with the studio’s values
  • Create and maintain relationships with other partners and manage the day-to-day business affairs
  • Work with client teams to build a profitable, growing, industry-leading and award-winning business
  • Visibly and actively engender an entrepreneurial culture focused on generating growth opportunities from clients and prospects, and providing unique growth and development opportunities for current and future studio talent
  • Responsible for oversight of production group, including staff deployment and utilization, staff coaching and nurturing, revenue generation, expense control, income projections and activities related to executing the annual business plan and to meeting profit and growth objectives
  • Develop and contribute to thought leadership and content and product development
  • Generate visibility for the studio in the marketplace to reach key prospects, influencers, and top talent
  • Stay current with new developments in the industry and innovative executions relevant to clients’ business, and to develop studio POVs that inspire actionable strategies
  • Grow and retain talent through timely, effective, and consistent use of performance management, succession planning, coaching, and other talent management tools
  • Identify and drive participation in training, development, and career growth opportunities for team members and self
  • Attract, grow, engage and retain talent
  • Contribute to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture, where every employee feels a sense of belonging
