Job Description

CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to build sustained, community-based response programs to natural disasters. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, CORE GA provides free vaccinations and additional resources to disadvantaged communities and emerging hotspots around Georgia. This is accomplished through maintaining strategic partnerships with local health agencies and community-based organizations to reach high-risk populations in vulnerable areas.We are seeking an experienced and results-drivenArea Manager to lead the design, development, and implementation of a state-wide chronic disease prevention and health promotion program. This position holds a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the health initiatives delivered through CORE’s mobile health units throughout Georgia. The successful candidate will oversee the training and continuous development of community health workers, ensuring compliance with program objectives. Additionally, the Area Manager will play a key role in monitoring program performance against grant goals, managing budgets, directly overseeing a team of Operations Managers, and fostering collaboration with internal departments.Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive chronic health program to be executed across the state via 15 mobile health units
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, stakeholders, and community partners to ensure the program aligns with best practices and addresses local health needs
  • Oversee the training and continuous development of community health workers responsible for program delivery
  • Establish performance metrics and indicators to assess the effectiveness of the chronic health program
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes against defined goals and objectives
  • Ensure the chronic health program meets all goals and objectives outlined in grants and funding agreements
  • Provide regular reports and updates to stakeholders, funding agencies, and organizational leadership
  • Manage budget and monitor expenses for the chronic health program
  • Directly manage a team of 7 Operations Managers, providing leadership, guidance, and support
  • Identify and pursue operational and funding partnership opportunities with local and state governments, private and non-profit sectors and maintain current partnership relations and communication
  • Develop processes to improve efficiencies, communications and structure for the area programming and in conjunction with CORE leadership
  • Coordinate procurement, management and monitoring of all program relevant inventory
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Logistics, Communications, Safety, HR, Finance, and IT to ensure seamless program operations
  • Facilitate cross-departmental communication and coordination
  • Follow all CORE procedures, protocols and safety regulations
  • Perform any other work-related duties if applicable
Scope and Travel
  • Direct Reports: Operations Managers
  • Travel: 15%, site visits across the state (more travel at the beginning)
Qualifications:
  • College degree in relevant public health, health sciences, humanitarian aid work subjects and/or equivalent humanitarian field experience at a senior level (experience may be accepted in lieu of the college degree)
  • At least 3 years medical experience or certification such as CNA, LPN, MA or RN
Experience:
  • At least 5years of professional managerial experience
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance, and accreditation standards
  • In-depth knowledge of chronic disease management, public health, and community healthcare services
  • Proven ability to develop and manage budgets and monitor expenses
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing strategic and programmatic plans to achieve objectives and goals for the project proposal
  • Experience in program development, grant compliance, budget management, and team leadership
Skills and Competencies:
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance, and accreditation standards
  • Excellent analytical skills, observation and analysis capacity
  • Very good knowledge of G-Suite and Microsoft Office (including MS Word, Excel)
  • Readiness to commit and adhere to the values, mission and vision of CORE
  • Excellent writing, reporting and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing business environments and flexibility to travel within the designated area as needed
  • Familiarity with public health entities and community-based organizations, demonstrating a nuanced understanding of their dynamics and operations
